Consultation on a draft regulation amending the Agriculture and Fishery De minimis regulations

Consultation on a draft regulation amending the Agriculture and Fishery De minimis regulations

Policy field

Competition: State aid

Target group

All citizens and organisations are welcome to contribute to this consultation.

Period of consultation

From 28.05.2021 to 23.07.2021

Reason why the consultation period is less than 12 weeks

The amendments to the two regulations are a mere mathematical reflex following the Brexit and the fact that State aid rules continue to apply in respect of Northern Ireland.

Objective of the consultation

The present consultation is launched in the context of the need to adapt the de minimis regulations in the agricultural and fishery sectors to reflect the provisions of the Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and its Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland.

The draft Regulation concerns an adaptation of the overall amount of de minimis aid which the UK is now allowed to spend in respect of Northern Ireland. It is a mere mathematical reflex of the formulas that were used when the amounts were fixed in these Regulations for all the Member States.
