When: 12 October 2023, 9h00 – 17h30

Where: Brussels

Agenda: see the provisional agenda

The European Commission is currently evaluating Regulations 1/2003 and 773/2004, which form the framework for the enforcement of Articles 101 and 102 TFEU. In this context, DG Competition is organising a specialised  interactive workshop to gather stakeholder views on the effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, coherence and EU added value of this enforcement framework.

The workshop will take place in Brussels on Thursday, 12 October 2023, from 9:00 until 17:30.

The workshop participants will be divided in groups that will discuss the following topics in six break-out sessions (three in the morning and three in the afternoon with each participant following one session in the morning and one in the afternoon):

  • The Commission’s evidence-gathering toolbox
  • Protecting confidentiality and granting access to the file
  • Complaints and third-party participation in proceedings
  • Tools for prompt intervention (interim measures and commitments)
  • Remedies and fines
  • Convergence and cooperation in the European Competition Network

The results of the break-out sessions will be presented and discussed with all workshop participants in two plenary sessions (one in the morning and one in the afternoon).

Stakeholders who have experience with the current procedural framework for the enforcement of Articles 101 and 102 TFEU and wish to participate in the workshop should register here by 22 September 2023 and indicate their order of preference for each of the break-out sessions that will take place in the morning and each of the break-out sessions that will take place in the afternoon.

We will strive to accommodate everyone who wishes to participate and their preferences taking into account that the number of places is limited.

Registered participants will receive more details on the practical arrangements before the workshop.

Registrations are now closed.
